He’s the doctor that we all know and trust – and the man who regularly brings supplements to our eyes that have been billed to make us lose weight.
The difference this time is that Dr Oz is promoting his own concept, going by the name of the Total 10 Rapid Weight Loss Plan.
The game is in the name and unsurprisingly, this is a plan that is designed to help you lose weight in a healthy way.
It has managed to capture the media’s attention and as we’ll soon find out, it has a slightly different slant on the usual weight loss products that appear on the Dr Oz show.
The ‘Total 10’ element of the name of this product immediately makes people ask questions. However, it’s not based on a ‘ten point plan’ or anything else along these lines but instead,
Dr Oz has coined it this term for the simple reason that participants will start to classify themselves as a ‘total ten’ – rather than ‘just a five’ or some other average number. In other words, it’s the rating that they will hand to themselves.
There is more, though. As well as the 10/10 rating, this number also refers to the number of days that you should be part of the diet for.
It means that it’s a completely short-term solution – although Dr Oz admits that it can have much longer-term benefits.
Lastly, the ten is there for another reason. Dr Oz says that most people should lose around ten pounds and following such a statement, it’s no surprise that this is a plan which has become so popular over recent times.
The plan works by readjusting your hormones and effectively making you rethink how you approach food. It is based on the following steps.
In short, this is a diet plan which kicks out the carbohydrates (at least for a two week period). It means that you must eliminate wheat, artificial sweeteners, dairy, refined sugar, alcohol and processed foods.
Additionally, you should limit your caffeine intake. Specifically, make sure that you don’t surpass one cup of coffee a day and when it comes to adding a sweet touch, use something like coconut milk or unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
Dr Oz hasn’t just put together ‘an idea’ here, he also tells you exactly how to execute this diet.
He has devised countless meals that allow you to stick to the rules and it’s possible to find anything from smoothie, breakfast, snack and general protein recipes.
Examples include Italian bowls, Chinese chicken bowls, Berry smoothies and squash chips – so there is certainly variety here.
The concept of the plan is that after two weeks, your body will start reacting differently to certain foods and you can start to gauge the results.
For example, after this period, it’s now time to reintroduce low-fat dairy. There is a chance that after going “cold turkey” on these types of foods for a fortnight, you might show moodiness or feel bloated.
If you do happen to feel like this, it’s time to eliminate them from your diet as your body is too sensitive to them.
The idea is that after following the diet, it becomes very easy to identify foods that are causing your body obvious problems.
Oh, as well as finding out the ‘problem foods’, you should have also lost around 10 pounds.
So far, the evidence suggests that the Total 10 plan is exceptionally successful.
After all, a reported 2.5 million people have both tried and succeeded with the plan – with the average weight loss being ten pounds over the two weeks.
As well as the positive feedback, there’s also the Dr Oz factor. As we all know, this is a man who has become one of the most trusted doctors in the world and is regularly providing advice on the small screen.
He’s not trying to sell anything here, merely give advice which science seems to back up.
And that leads us onto the next point; science. The Total 10 plan isn’t a fad, it simply involves eating real, natural foods in a bid to re-tune your body.
The emphasis on protein means that you won’t turn to snacks nearly as often, while the fact that you are only cutting out certain foods for a couple of weeks means that the plan feels completely attainable for most people.
Dr Oz has become renowned for recommending products which inevitably cost money to buy. The big difference with his own plan is that it is merely an idea – there’s no cost as such.
Of course, it costs money to put the meals together, but apart from that your pocket will not be hit whatsoever.
The advice with the Total 10 Rapid Weight Loss Plan is very similar to that in relation to other natural health supplements.
You should consult with your doctor if you are on any existing medication or suffer from any sort of medical condition, but otherwise there is no reason why Total 10 will prompt any serious adverse effects.
Some people might experience some mild withdrawal symptoms, with a lack of caffeine sometimes resulting in headaches. However, these are just minor issues and will resolve once your body has become accustomed to the new diet.
This isn’t a product as such, but the success that millions of people have reported with this diet plan suggest that Dr Oz may have made a mistake in not charging people for the advice!
It relies on solid science as its backbone and with the plan lasting for just two weeks, most people are happy to at least try it out and cut out the ‘bad foods’ for a short period of time.
When they also lose 10 pounds in the process, it becomes clear that this could be one of the most revolutionary diet plans that has breached the industry over recent times.
